Towards the end of last month, I had the privilege of participating in the Washington D.C. MS walk. It was the first walk that I have participated in as a member of a team. The team name she created was Not Today MS, which I know is just the beginning of many great things to come for this MS activist. I brought my boys along for the ride and we had a WONDERFUL time!
Being able to support the people you love with actions, and not just words is a rewarding feeling. It felt great to be a part of a movement, but it felt even better knowing that I was there to support my dear friend during her first walk since her diagnosis. The picture above does no justice in showing the world the entirety of whom she truly is. She is a strong, resilient, beautiful, inspiring, thoughtful, caring, reliable, and honest person. Most of all, she is a fighter that finds strength in holding her head high as she gracefully walks along this journey in her life. She is a true gem and no matter what life throws at her, she is standing in the beauty of what God has created her to be and motivating all of us to do the same. I challenge you to embrace that mentality. When faced with a challenge or obstacle, I encourage you to face it head on and say “Not Today”.
